We run most of our courses in the pristine natural beauty of Spray lakes provincial park. The conditions here are ideal for snow kiting as there is good wind, thick ice, great snow and scenery that is hard to beat.

The lake is a dammed reservoir and its levels drop continuously over the winter creating a natural terrain park with up to 50 feet of ice and snow covered banks and islands that create some awesome features to play on. The lake is at about 1740 meters in elevation so the season often lasts from December right up until May.

We primarily run our courses on the lake near the Sparrowhawk pull off which is approximately 22.5km past the Canmore Nordic center on the Smith Dorrien Highway 742. Just a short walk down from the road we have our training area and a warm up hut out on the ice so that you can get out of the wind and have a nice warm non-alcoholic beverage should you get cold.

Caution: the Spray Lake road is a gravel road which can be hazardous due to snow and ice covered sections and can be exposed to avalanches in certain sections. Winter tires and or all wheel drive vehicles are strongly recommended.
